Headshot of Ron Kuhl, head coach of the NY Dynamo NCDC team

Ron Kuhl

Head Coach & General Manager

Kuhl took over as NCDC's head coach midseason after starting the 2025-26 season as assistant coach, and guided New York to a 14-16 finish — a big turnaround from a 6-16 start. Four players committed to college programs under his leadership: Will McDonald (Beloit), Eric Treusdell (Misericordia), Louis Sweenor (SUNY Plattsburgh), and Paul Schilcher (SUNY Canton).

Kuhl has coached in New York's Capital Region since 1993, developing players at every level from youth to pro for more than 30 years. He founded Excel Hockey Inc. in 1997 and is an owner of the Hockey Hut Training Center in Clifton Park. He was hired by Boston University Athletic Director Drew Marrochello and delivered the 2001 National Championship to Hudson Valley Community College.

Ron was inducted into the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame on July 9, 2023. He is an avid golfer, has been married to his wife, Deb, for 31 years, and is a proud father to Cameron Kuhl and Anna Snyder, and grandfather to Shepherd James Snyder.

Pierre is in his second season as an assistant coach for NCDC. He met Head Coach and General Manager Ron Kuhl at the Hockey Hut and has been a constant presence with Dynamo ever since.

Before coaching, the Quebec native played 15 seasons of professional hockey. New Jersey selected him in the seventh round (216th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, and he spent five NHL seasons with the Devils (2008-2011), Calgary Flames (2011-12), and Pittsburgh Penguins (2014). He also played for the Albany River Rats (2005-2006) and Albany Devils (2010-2011) in the AHL.

Pierre was inducted into the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame in July 2023. The left-shot forward resides in East Greenbush with his wife and two children.
